Even though wildlife tends to rest in the midday heat, the advantage of an afternoon safari is that our guides will have information about earlier sightings and where they took place, so we can try to find the most exciting wildlife for you to experience first-hand.
Watering holes are also a popular spot during this time as many animals will be looking to cool down and nothing is more pleasing than watching elephants play around in a river. Our guides will ensure an exciting safari, filled with facts about the animals and birds in the Park, as well as the plant life for those who share an interest in the lush vegetation and age-old trees.
There are different kinds of plant-life in the various areas of the Kruger National Park, and these plants attract different kinds of animals. The later the day gets and the closer it gets for closing time in the Park, the better the chances of sightings become, as the animals become more active as the heat dissipates.
It is also better to go on a morning safari the next day, if you get a chance, as this is the best game viewing time. Please bring with sun cream, a hat, sunglasses, comfortable shoes, warm clothing in the winter months and a rain jacket in the summer months. Mineral waters are included on all safaris.
